KFC Monster Zinger

kfc-zinger.gif

Take a look at this Zinger meal deal- this was purchased in Honolulu Hawaii, -You wouldn’t want to take your shirt off on Waikiki beach after eating one of these monsters, and its just the standard meal, you could upsize to a medium and a large. what are they thinking. No wonder the average American is huge- this one alone is enough to feed a whole family- the big one would probably stop famine in a small country. Read the rest of this entry »

Stay in a botel

botel1.gif

Sick of the standard hotel room on your tour of Europe, well here is the answer, a Botel- its a hotel but its a boat. This one is in Prague in the Czech Republic on the Vltava River. It is a stationary vessel which has bar, restaurant, lobby and all the things you would expect in a budget hotel only it is a boat. on the It might not be 5 star luxury (or even 2 star for that matter) but it sure is fun and good value. The cabins are fairly small and sparse but for novelty value who cares and lets face it your only sleeping there as there’s so much to do and see in Prague you will hardly find time to sleep. Prague has a few different botels to choose from and you will find them in other European cities including Amsterdam.

A Munich delicacy is the this Kartoffel a shredded potato Pattie which is fried in hot oil until golden brown and then served with apple sauce. It is a great snack and goes well with a nice cold beer.

A few crusty old German bears & friends

munich-toy-museum.gif

The Munich Toy Museum is a novel attraction which will entertain young and old for a few minutes. The museum building itself is interesting it is? built in a tower at the end of the city gate at Marienplatz. This building has 5 rooms all about the size of a bed room but they are connected via a? narrow windy stone staircase which is very difficult to navigate. Only one person can fit up or down at any one time and you wont want to be too big. The toy museum itself is quiet interesting there are a large collection of old toys heaps of crusty old bears, dolls, early puzzles and some? mechanical toys, model cars and lots of childhood memories. Threes a tiny gift shop at the bottom where you can pick up something interesting? too. Read the rest of this entry »

Oktoberfest in Munich Germany is all about beer, swine and fun but one tent dares to be different it serves smoked herrings. These tasty morsels are cooked in large charcoal grills outside the pavilion as they would smell it out. You can smell these fish a mile off- well not quite but they do have a distinctive strong odour. Hundreds are served every hour on a platter with salad, pate, bread and other German specialties. Munich’s Hafbrauhaus Beer

hb-bier2.gif

The Hofbrauhaus Beir or HB as it is fondly known is probably the best known of Munich’s beers. Hofbrauhas’ beer brewing tradition dates back to 1589 when some chamberlains and council members decided to build their own brewery. The first beer they brewed was a brown ale which was simply called “brown”. Today the Hofbrauhaus products are available all around the world. Read the rest of this entry »

Giant Schnitzels

schnitzelwelt.gif

You can travel the world looking for the best schnitzel but you would be wasting your time unless you go straight to Austria and find Schnitelwelt. They have the juiciest schnitzels you have ever tasted. Schnitzelwelt appeared to be a chain and can be found in about 6 locations throughout Austria, they are a bit like KFC or McDonalds only they sell schnitzels. There are quiet a few varieties to choose including Beef, Pork, Chicken Vegetable and Surschnitzel, which is a sour pork fillet and Fisch (which I believe is fish). The meal is served quiet simply on a plate with some chips and some dips. The restaurants are also licensed so you can get a nice cold Austrian beer and they have great donuts for desert- that’s if you can fit one in. My suggestion is go the meal deal, schnitzel, beer and donut, or if you are real hungry try a trio of schnitzel. The tasty treat pictured above was from the Villach store. There are plenty of displays and quiet a few interactive areas, you can DJ in your own nightclub, you can go for a horse and buggy ride on a simulator or play some great electronic toys in the bar room. The highlight of course is the beer, and you are treated to some complementary beer in two of the special bars in the museum. When exiting the bar you are in for a surprise too, with a special gift reminding you of your visit.
